CCTV

It is now possible to buy cameras from the larger DIY stores for as little as £50. These cameras plug into the television and give reasonable results. As in all fields, though, you get what you pay for. Such equipment would be completely inadequate if you want a multi camera system covering large and small areas, working in variable light conditions and with a Digital Video Recorder able to record all cameras for a month.

We can design and fit CCTV systems to suite your requirements, but must be realised that CCTV is not the answer to every problem. Before designing a system make sure that you have a clear objective in mind and do not expect cameras to do a job for which they were not designed.

A basic CCTV system consists of cameras, a monitor and a recording device. Nowadays the recorder is usually digital.

DVRs
The modern DVR can perform an increasing number of operations depending on the price. It will record all cameras on the system for months, download on to disc and when fitted with an HTTP server allow the images from the cameras to be viewed from anywhere in the world on the internet.
