The Company
A1 Security Services was founded in 1988 by L S Powell who is still the Proprietor of the company. The company initially concentrated on domestic intruder alarms but a growing reputation for quality and an increasing number of referrals led to the company taking on larger commercial projects. Door access systems were added to the range of services when the company started working for the local and county councils. The range of products and services has expanded naturally due to demand and now includes CCTV, safes and external security systems.

A significant step forward was made in 1998 when the company designed a Lone Worker Protection system designed specifically for sales staff in show homes. The system was taken up by one of Britain's largest house builders and is now used by builders all over the country. A1 Security are a UKAS accredited company, members of the SSAIB.

The SSAIB
The Security Systems and Alarm Inspection Board was founded in 1994. The objectives for which the board was established were to promote and encourage high standards of ethics, service and equipment and to endeavour to procure the protection of purchasers, hirers and users of Security Systems against defective installations and equipment. The SSAIB is a UKAS accredited body.

UKAS
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators.

Pressure Selling
Our surveyors are not working on commission and they are not allowed to pressurise customers. We rely on our expertise and experience to sell systems.
